Come and discover! The group meets in the courtyard and then heads out in to the garden. They meet the 1st Sunday of the month and the 3rd Wednesday beginning at 8:00 am. |

Sun, 5/6 10:00am - 11:30am Three Sisters Garden: According to Iroquois legend, corn, beans, and squash are three inseparable sisters who only grow and thrive together Sunday, May 5 Or Sunday, May 6 $18 for member’s children/$20 for non-members (each class) For elementary to middle school children (ages 9-13).
Instructor: Diane Pollock, Landscape and Horticulture teacher at Venice High School, Certified Master Gardener In this hands-on activity children will learn about the seasons and which is the best time to plant seeds. There will be color page activities illustrating the seasons. They will read the story ‘The Three Sisters Legend’ along with guided discussion. Children will decorate and plant three biodegradable pots with squash, beans, and corn seeds to take home and nurture. Parents will receive seasonal planting sheets as well as care sheets for the newly planted pots. Class limited to 25 to ensure proper supervision and guidance. This is not a drop-off program and parental attendance as well as participation is required. |

Sun, 5/6 1:30pm - 2:30pm Kid’s Club @ South Cost Botanic Garden is a new program we are offering! Kids who love nature and learning about all the fascinating things found in the garden will be in for a treat as we kick this program off this spring! Kids who become members of the Kid’s Club @ South Coast Botanic Garden can participate in various activities offered. Activities can include book readings, art activities, planting activities, learning about recycling, and other things that focus on gardening and our planet. Activities will be scheduled the first Sunday of each month beginning at 1:30 pm and will last one hour in length.
Yearly membership per child: $35 for member’s children/$70 for non-members Additional siblings are half price

Sunday, May 6 Mother’s Day Make a fun project to give to mom on her special day. Each child will be making a special gift for mom. We can’t give away our secret but their mom will love it! |

Sun, 5/6 3:00pm - 4:00pm Must Pre-Register. No fee. Registration will be based on space availability. This class is geared towards 2nd graders (7 years) Hosted by: Union Bank Does your child know the value of a dollar? They are not too young to begin to learn about saving. Union Bank has a special presentation geared twoards the younger generation that will teach them about the different types of currency and coins, the ffunction of a bank, tips for saving, and why its' important to save. Special activities are planned to aquaint children with the different denominations of currency and coin. |
