We are pleased to offer this exclusive opportunity through a program at the new Torrance Memorial Learning Garden. Participants can learn how to grow an edible garden and actually work in a garden plot. This year-round program features formal classes/lectures, work days, and much more. In addition to these more formal classes, there are ongoing “work” days that include hands-on instruction in topics such as plant selection, soil preparation, fertilizing, natural pest control, irrigation, general garden maintenance, and harvesting/deadheading. Class is limited to 6 participants.

Adding Fall Seasonal Colors to the Edible Garden: Monday, October 1, 9 a.m.

Fall Harvest Party: Recipes & Seed Saving: Monday, October 22, 9 a.m.

Gifts from and for the Garden: Monday, November 26, 9 a.m.

(All classes meet at Columbia Park Community Garden Presentation Area, weather permitting. Instructor will notify participants if there is a change in meeting place.)

Volunteer group that meets every Wednesday and makes crafts for our Gift Shop.

Instructor: Nida Amin

Learn to draw with basic techniques using several mediums including pencil, colored pencil, ink, charcoal, and pastel. You will learn extensive lessons in art theory and practice. Please bring a No. 2 pencil to the first class. A materials list will also be provided. 

Docent led Tram Tours run at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm and last approximately 45 minutes.  Cost is $4 per/person.  Purchase your boarding pass at the Admission Window (cash only). 

The availability of Tram Tours are based on docent availability.  You can check with the Admission Window (310) 544-6815 to verify if the tram is running.  Tram Tours are subject to cancelation without prior notice.

Enjoy an afternoon at the Garden playing Bridge. You will play hands then turn them face up to discuss bidding, leads, declarer play, and defense.  Light snacks & refreshments provided.
