Sat, 3/16 9:00am - 5:00pm Upper and Lower Meadows Picnic with paid Garden admission Bring your family for a picnic at the Garden and visit the Rare Fruit Orchard, which displays over 50 different varieties of fruiting trees, shrubs, and vines. This new display orchard focuses on fruits that are great for the local home landscape with a focus on fruits that aren’t readily available in your local supermarket. You can see Dragon Fruit vines, Banana Shrubs, and stone fruits trees suitable to our mild climate. A self-guided tour and information sheet will be available. Sat, 3/16 9:00am - 10:00am Saturdays March 16, 23, 30, April 6, 13, 20, 27, May 4 $80 members / $90 non-members Instructor: Renee Yazdi When we have the opportunity to take yoga out of the studio and into a natural setting, we can experience the true beauty in the practice. In these eight weeks, feel the peace and energy of the garden become one with you. The pace and difficulty of this class is appropriate for most individuals. Each class will begin with joint opening, progress to deeper stretches and flows, and ultimately be guided into meditation. This gentle therapeutic approach can be done in a chair or without a chair. Yet, even an advanced practitioner can benefit from this energy-based, meditative practice. Please bring a mat and dress for the outside. In the event of rain, we will still have class, but we may need to move it inside. **Drop-ins are allowed and are $12 per class for members and $15 per class for non-members. $12 for adults and children, members and non-members – Includes one tour Join Faery Fauni and Faery Godmother Careen up close in an interactive walkabout in the enchanted gardens of South Coast Botanic Garden. The faeries will bring you stories of faery magic and flowers, with dancing, singing and fun. Starting at 9:30 a.m. and ending at noon. Groups and parties are welcome. Picnicking will be available on the lawn adjacent to the Amphitheater during the Event hours. Children are invited to come in costume. Fairy merchandise and face painting will be available for purchase. Call (310) 544-1948 for advance tickets. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your tour time. Sat, 3/16 1:00pm - 1:45pm Docent guided Tram Tour. Tour lasts about 45 minutes and travels the Tram Road which is about a one-mile loop around the garden. Various points of interest are discussed. You will not disembark the tram. Current Tram Tour schedule is only at 1:00pm on Saturdays. Please call the admission window at (310) 544-6815 to ensure that the tram is running as scheduled. Cost is $4 per person, payable at the admission window, on a first come, first served basis. Admission window accepts cash only for entrance and tram tour. |
