On February 15, 2010 after continued, heavy rains, a very large Euphorbia ingens, uprooted and crashed to the ground. This old-timer will be missed! It's thought this giant succulent was planted in the garden in the mid 80's, making it somewhere around 25 years old! Extreme care was exercised in the removal due to the milky sap that can be quite skin irritating. Just ask SCBG's Manny Luna, shown here, next to the giant Euphorbia. Cuttings were saved to start this plant growing again.
Thanks, Laurel for the great photo.
